Rose Gold Striped Nail Art

Hi everyone! Today I have some beautiful girly nail art to share with you. This time I did a rose gold striped nail design using 2 coats of Essie - Penny Talk and China Glaze - White on White for the lines. I really love metallics, especially this colour but it does not last very well (and you can see if your nails are peeling/uneven), but alas I did it anyway because it's totally worth it! I hope you like this design.

Essie - Mirror Metallics

Hi guys! Hope you are all well! Today I have some colours from the Essie - Mirror Metallics collection to show you, even though it has been out for quite some time, it's still a classic collection I wanted to try! There are 5 colours in this collection but today i'll be showing you 4 of them; Penny Talk (a bronze penny chrome shade), Blue Rhapsody (a mid silvery-blue chrome), Nothing Else Metals (a silvery lilac) and No Place Like Chrome (a silver chrome). As usual with chrome polishes, these dry very quick so you need to have a quick, light hand when applying otherwise you will drag the polish and it will be uneven. They are amazing colours and Penny Talk is so worth the hype! I applied 2 coats of each followed by 1 coat of G&G topcoat. Please excuse the different nail lengths in the photos, I had a break when I swatched the second half of these polishes. Essie can be found at Myer and Priceline (who have a really great sale on at the moment, selling these mirror metallic polishes for only $4.47!! - i'd suggest jumping online here now!)

No Place Like Chrome
Nothing Else Matters
Penny Talk
Which colour is your favourite? Hope you enjoyed this post! xx

Trophy Wife Nail Art Inspired Nails

Hi guys!! A few days ago on instagram I saw such a cool looking nail art design by the super talented Trophy Wife Nail Art and knew I wanted to replicate it right away! It is definitely a random skittle manicure with each nail being different. I'm really pleased with the results and managed to do both hands quite well. I loved this mani so much! All were free handed using the polish brush and a small nail art brush. I finished the look off with 1 coat of SV.

Colours used: OPI - Alpine Snow (White), Revlon - Metallic (Silver), OPI - In My Back Pocket (Orange), Essie - Set In Stones (silver glitter), Nails Inc - Baker Street (Royal blue), Essie - DJ Play That Song (purple), Essie - Go Overboard (dark green), Orly - Black Vinyl (black), OPI - What's With The Cattitude (light blue),

Pink & Blue Leopard Print

Hi guys! Today I have a leopard print mani I did last night. After I used Passions For Petals* I wanted to spruce it up so I got out my Essie - Bikini So Teeny and OPI - Black Onyx and dotted on the design. I finished it off with 1 coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust (a gorgeous holographic topper) to add some pizazz and then 1 coat of Wicked Fast. I really like this design, it's super cool and I love the contrasting colours. What do you think? :)

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Fireworks Nails!

Enter my current $50AUD gift voucher giveaway here!

Hi loves! Today I have a striping tape design to show you. First off I started by applying a thin coat of PVA glue as my base coat as I used a very dense glitter (and PVA is by far the best removal method!) I used 2 thick coats of Ozotic 213 (reviewed here) it's such a lovely glitter that is very sparkly in the sunlight. I applied 1 coat of Wicked Fast to get it to try quickly so I could lay down some striping tape onto my nails. I was really making up the design as I went along and I ended up having a design that reminded me of fireworks. I used 1 thick coat of Essie - Lights which is a purple-pink creme and finished it all off with Wicked Fast.

I'm pretty annoyed at myself because I broke the nail on my pinky and it is so short now! Ah well these things happen! anyway, Thanks for reading everyone! See you all soon!

OPI - Oz The Great and Powerful Review

Hello everyone! Today I have some swatches of the latest and greatest OPI collection inspired by the movie Oz: The Great and Powerful (the prequel to the Wonderful Wizard of Oz movie). The movie looks awesome and I can't wait to see it! I love how they are giving typical fairytale movies a dark fantasy twist to them :) But anyway we all want to know about the collection that OPI is bringing out! It is super fun and I'm happy to show you 3 awesome glitters! All photos below are shown without any topcoat.

First up is Lights of Emerald City*, which is a clear base filled with square white glitters and smaller square iridescent glitters (drooooool). The look shown here is 2 coats of China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy (reviewed here) followed by 1 coat of Lights Of Emerald City*, which by the way was super easy to apply and I didn't have to fish out the larger white squares! This combination looked seriously amazing!

Secondly is Which is Witch?* I love the name of this polish. It is also a clear base filled with tons of small holographic bar glitters and small holographic hex glitters which gives your nails an insane sparkle to them. I needed a fine glitter like this for so long and I will definitely be using this one to add some pizaz to my mani's! The combination shown here is 2 coats of Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy followed by 1 coat of Which is Witch?*. Very easy to apply and no need to fish glitters out!

Thirdly and lastly is When Monkeys Fly!* A clear base filled with micro and slightly larger holographic hex glitters and very huge and chunky gold hex glitters which a slightly curled. Now I know some people wanted to steer clear on this polish because of that exact reason but I can't pass up a glitter when I see one! This polish is super easy to work with, just like the two above and I loved the contrast of size and colour glitters in the polish. The combination below is 2 coats of Essie - Where's My Chauffer? (reviewed here) followed by 1 coat of When Monkeys Fly!*.

I love these glitters! They are so fun and quirky and are quite unique! What do you think of these? Will you be picking up any colours from the new collection? Thanks for reading and have a good day!

OPI Oz the Great and Powerful will be available from mid February at selected salons, David Jones and Myer stores, RRP $19.95. For more information on stockists check www.opi.net.au

Artsy Wednesday - Jelly Sandwich

Hi guys!! Today's Artsy Wednesday theme is jelly sandwich! For those of you who don't know what exactly a jelly sandwich is, it is where you generally layer quite sheer jelly-like polishes with glitter and it usually ends with another layer of the jelly on top of the glitter to dull the shine, but it gives some amazing depth!

Today's theme fell coincidental with this new polish by Essie I was wearing called Leading Lady (which is part of their new winter 2012 collection). It is a really gorgeous red jelly with red glitter in it. Without being a typical jelly sandwich, it already looks like one, but without all the extra layers.. bonus!

I used 2 coats here, but it could have easily gone with 1 coat. I noticed the red jelly went darker in colour after two coats. I applied 1 coat of Wicked Fast on top.

Seriously gorgeous colour, but is a pain in the bum to remove unless you use the PVA method! Thanks for reading and don't forget to check out these lovely ladies partaking in todays theme!

Michelle - Lab Muffin
Tif - Polished Genius
Catrine - Unnaked Nails
Jessica - Beauty Gnome
Emily - AnAccentNail
Ameerah - Valiantly Varnished
Jean - Lacquered Lunatic

Today I have a colour from Essie's new winter collection to show you. It is called Where's My Chauffer and it is the best turqouise/aqua creme colour I own. I love it! It does best in 2 coats. I also received a Sephora by OPI It's Real 18K Gold Top Coat (from my lovely friend in the U.S Jasmine..Thank you!!:)) and I decided to layer it on top. I used 2 coats of the 18K top coat and finished it off with 1 coat of Wicked Fast.

Essie - Tour De Finance

Hi guys! I'm almost on holidays...yay! And it's my 21st birthday soon.. yay! Good things are coming next week woo-hoo! Don't you love a good week?

Today I am showing you another Essie I hauled from Beautybay.com called Tour De Finance and it is the perfect and truest magenta I own in nail polish form. It is a gorgeous magenta with blue undertones. It is very opaque and I only used 2 coats in photos followed by 1 coat of wicked fast.

After a few days I decided to add a leopard print look using Revlon - Metallic (silver) and a black striper. Not a bad look I must say!
Do you own this colour? I'm really loving Essie polishes these days, something about the little bottles make me feel special haha.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here to win a $30AUD Beautybay.com gift voucher! It ends soon :-). Thanks for reading!

Essie - Action

Hi guys! Sorry about my absence. I'm trying to study/cram for my last two exams and then I am on holidays for 3 months!! Wooo-hooo! Anyways....to fore warn you..I have serious nubbins at the moment. I recently received a mini Essie haul from Beautybay.com (5 polishes for only about $33..bargain!) Today i'm showing you Essie - Action from their Poppy Razzi collection released earlier this year. Action in the bottle looks like a peachy-orange creme. . .but when you apply it. . it is much darker and dries into an almost jelly like appearance! The formula was very gluggy and thick but not unbearable to work with. I used 2 coats for these pictures followed by 1 coat of wicked fast.

That isn't actually tip wear you see, it's shrinkage. It's a lot harder to seal the tips of my nails because they are so short and I am really noticing much more chipping and shrinkage because of it! Anyway I really love this colour and you'll probably see a few more Essie's coming up in the next couple of posts!

Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter my $30AUD Beautybay.com gift voucher giveaway here!

Milani - Beach Front + A Cute As A Button Love Heart

Hello :-) Today's post features a Milani colour I received when I did a swap with a very generous lady, Jasmine from colourcoated. Milani - Beach front is a really pretty light blue with silver micro glitter through out it. It has a great formula and is fully opaque in 1 coat but I  did 2 just to cover any unevenness. I applied 1 coat of China Glaze - First & Last, 2 coats of Beach Front and 1 coat of Cult Nails - Wicked Fast. I painted a cute little love heart on my ring finger using Essie - Cute As A Button, my favourite coral creme yet! I hope you like this cute mani :)

Do you own this colour? Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this!

Essie New Winter Collection 2012

Hey everyone! Today I have for you 3 colours from the latest winter collection by Essie. School of Hard Rocks; a stunning malachite green creme, Bobbing For Baubles; a dark blue sapphire creme and Bangle Jangle; a soft lavender amethyst creme. These colours all applied excellently and required 2 coats for each. I love these colours, but Bangle Jangle is too similar to many colours I have in my collection. Nonetheless, still gorgeous and a definite must have for winter! I am currently wearing Bobbing For Baubles and I loooove it! Here are some photos :-)
