Orly Magnetic FX - Force Field

Today I have for you a polish from the latest Orly Magnetic FX 2012 collection. They are available on shelves the 1st of July. Today's colour i'm reviewing is called Force Field, a dark magenta/burgundy with silver shimmer particles scattered through out. This colour only needed 1 coat and was opaque!

I started by applying 1 coat, on 1 nail at a time, gently placing the magnet over the nail (it has a really useful little under nail hook to secure it in place) for around 10 seconds. The length of the magnet is great for all fingers. . .but the thumb! The magnet only worked on half of my thumb! I tried moving the magnet to the side of my nail to even it out, and also put the magnet from the other side of the nail, but it didn't really work. I only had trouble on my thumbs, all the other fingers turned out quite well for my first go!

I really like the Orly magnetic polishes so far and I have another one to show you guys very soon, but for now here are some pictures of today's polish:

Overall this is a lovely colour, dries quickly, easy to apply, easy to get the latest trend of the magnetic nails. I adore! What do you think of this? Thanks for reading!

OPI Germany Collection 2012 Preview & Review

Hello everyone! Today I have for you a preview of OPI's newest collection, set to be released to the public in August 2012, the Germany Collection! Sweeeet! Here are the 12 colours being released.

Courtesy of OPI
Top Row L to R: My Very First Knockwurst, Don't Pretzel My Buttons,
Berlin There Done That, Dont Talk Bach to Me,
Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!, Schnapps Out of It,

Bottom Row L to R: Suzi & The 7 Dusseldorfs, Every Month is Oktoberfest,
Unfor-greta-bly Blue,Deutche You Want Me Baby,
Danke-Shiny Red & German-icure by OPI.

Today's colours I have for you are:

Don't Pretzel My Buttons - this is literally, liquid foundation in nail polish form lol! This is a really beautiful sandy/golden nude creme and applied perfectly! This is one coat, it is super opaque!

Berlin There Done That - a really nice mushroom-y taupe creme with a grey undertone, which is quite sheer and would be good with two coats. It might of been just my bottle, but the brush was a bit wonky, uh oh OPI! I used 1 coat here.

Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! - a flat dark green/olive/grey creme.  This colour was quite opaque but I used 2 coats here to cover up baldness. I love this colour! I have nothing close to this colour in my collection, bingo!!

Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue - A simply gorgeous shimmery blue colour with hints of light blue micro shimmer! This blue is so much nicer on the nails than in the bottle! It is a very highly pigmented blue that has an irridescent glow and with a slight metallic finish (hence the brush strokes visible!) I'm in love! This is my favourite colour of the collection that I have tried so far!

Germani-Cure by OPI - A deep purple based ruby red with some coppery bronze components. WOW!. . . . .. . . . . WOW! Ok. . .this is also my favourite colour from the collection as well! So so gorgeous, trust me on this one, you need it! It is so much more exciting and incredible in real life! Very impressed! This only needed 1 coat for full opacity!

To me, this collection is exciting! It shouts out at me in every direction! I love the cremes, I love the shimmers, I love the overall colours, and all have great formulas, as always!

What do you think of the Germany collection? Which colours will you be getting?

Thanks for reading!

Artsy Wednesday - Inspired By My Favourite Colour

Today's Artsy Wednesday theme is inspired by my favourite colour, green! (and blue :P) I decided to do a ruffian manicure and pulled out my favourite greens and blues! If you want to see other posts i've done using the colours below just click on the link :) (Not all have been posted yet!)

The Colours I used were:

KIKO - Sky Blue

The technique I used was inspired by Chalkboard Nail's Ruffle Manicure Tutorial . It is a really great tutorial and super easy to do, but does require time, and patience!!

Check these photos out!

OPI - Austin-Tatious Turquoise

Hey folks. How are you all? I'm supposed to be studying for my uni exams but am seriously procrastinating! Wooops! Today I have OPI's Austin-Tatious Turquoise from the Texas collection. This is a really pretty colour in the bottle, a sheer dark turquoise with a beautiful glass fleck shimmer, with some subtle pink duochromeness. This colour does not translate onto the nails at all. Out of all the OPI colours I have tried, this has got to have the WORST formula ever! It is very watery and would slide away from the tip of the nail, leaving it looking a bit worn and torn. I applied 3 thick coats of this on each nail. It does look quite nice, but applying was dreadful!

Here are some pics

Do you own this colour and have difficulties with it? Let me know!

OPI - Gouda Gouda Two Shoes (+ Mermaid Nails)

Hello everybody! Today I have for you Gouda Gouda Two Shoes from the latest Holland collection, released earlier this year. This is a gorgeous rosey-peach beige with peachy-orange micro shimmer. It applied flawlessly in 2 coats. I decided to try doing the glitter placement method, which i've seen on a couple of blogs that call it "mermaid nails". I used Milani Jewel FX in gold. . it was very time consuming, but it does look very cool! I'm going to be sporting these nails at the Matt Corby gig tonight and hopefully the gold glimmer catches his gorgeous eyes..LOL (I have a tiny crush on him!)

GGTS Alone
Thanks for reading and I hope you like this combination :)
