My Mum Reviews The Weleda Evening Primrose Range

Hi guys! I hope you have had a great week so far! Mine has been very busy and has gone so quick which is always a good thing! Today I am sharing with you a special post. As a pre-mother's day gift, Weleda kindly sent my mum a few products from their new Evening Primrose range in exchange for her honest opinion and review on them! So let's jump right in to the review. I had my mum trial these products for 2-2.5 weeks and tell me what she liked and didn't like about these products. Let's jump right in to the products. Weleda products can be found from selected health stores, pharmacies, David Jones and weleda.com.au.

Revitalising Body Wash (RRP $18.95):
It claims to gently cleanse the skin, while leaving your skin feeling refreshed and replenished as the Omega 6 fatty acids from the Evening Primrose oil stimulates the skin and protects it from dryness and damage.
Did this body wash cleanse your skin well? Yes
Did you feel your skin was not dry after using it? It was normal

Any other comments? It smells too medicinal

Age Revitalising Hand Cream (RRP $17.95):
This product claims that Evening Primrose oil smooths rough patches, macadamia nut oil adds a protective layer on top of the skin to lock in hydration and Centella asiatica stimulates natural collagen synthesis. It also claims to promote cell growth and reduce deep lines, leaving hands soft.
Did this product smooth out any rough skin patches? Yes, overnight.

Did you notice a decrease in deep lines? No

Were your hands noticeably softer after using? Yes, but a little too oily.

Age Revitalising Day Cream (RRP $43.95):
This product boasts that macadamia nut oil helps to smooth and hydrate skin, while evening primrose oil and Centella asiatica extract boosts collagen production, for an even, more firm complexion. Deep lines are reduced and facial contour are more defined.
Did this product hydrate your skin? Yes
Does your skin look more even and firm? Yes
Have you noticed a reduction in any lines? No - she doesn't have any (great genes)

Overall comment: They all had a medicinal smell to them which was a bit off-putting to use. The hand cream would of been easier to use if it had a flip lid, which would make it easier to dispense.

OPI - 2015 Hawaii Collection

Hi guys! Today I have 6 colours from the new OPI Spring 2015 Hawaii Collection to share with you. This collection contains 7 cremes, 4 shimmers and 1 glitter. All swatches show 2 coats and no topcoat. OPI retails for $19.99 and is available from Myer and David Jones nationally. Let's jump right in!

Pineapples Have Peelings Too - A yellow shimmery frost polish with multi-coloured hex glitters through it. I dislike this polish. . a lot. This colour really just does not work for me. Sorry OPI! Besides the terrible colour concoction, the formula was easy to apply and the glitter didn't need fishing.

Lost My Bikini In Molokini -  A dusty medium purple. This colour reminded my partner of Cadbury chocolates - and I can sort of see that too, just a tad darker. Perfect formula.

Suzi Shops & Island Hops - A beautiful light pink creme, very soft and feminine. Nothing we haven't seen before! Perfect formula also.

Just Lanai-Ing Around - A dark rose pink with silver micro shimmer through it. This was one of my favourites from the collection and had a beautiful shimmer in the sunlight. It also had a perfect formula.

Go With The Lava Flow - A pink/red/orange shimmer. I like the idea of this polish, to depict the hot flowing lava, but it doesn't really stand out for me.

This Colour's Making Waves - This is my favourite from the collection, and I'm sure a lot of other people's favourite too. This blue/green shimmery foil was stunning and had micro pink glitter through it that sparkle perfectly in the sun. This was a little streaky when applying but was easy to work with.

Which colour is your favourite? Thanks a lot for reading!

Current Favourites

Hi guys! Today I have a new Current Favourites post to share with you. It has been a while since I last posted one so let's jump right in!

Trilogy - Everything balm. The name of this balm is very relevant as I use this for everything. Lip balm, hand cream, foot cream/heel balm, cuticle moisturiser, eyebrow tamer, eyelid glosser, to treat my mild dermatitis on 1 finger (which has completely healed!), on pimples, on my elbows and knees when they look super dry and sometimes on the ends of my hair. Sometimes the man will let me put this through his moustache to tame them! I love the multi-use of this product but for me, it is the best lip balm I've tried! Great job Trilogy! (RRP $18.99, available from Priceline and selected pharmacies nationwide).

So…? Eternal is a scent containing top notes of pink pepper and a hint of lemon and clementine, which lead into middle notes of orchid, pink peony and violet. Encapsulated with amber, vanilla and sandalwood. I love how small and slender this perfume is - perfect for throwing in your handbag or gym bag on the go! I spritz it all over like crazy as it's super fresh and light! (RRP $14.95 for 30ml, available from Priceline, Big W, Target and selected pharmacies nationwide).

Kevin.Murphy - Young Again Collection. I love Kevin.Murphy. Is there more I need to say? Their products are consistently of such high standards and deliver excellent results, everytime. My hair has never felt softer, looked shinier or younger, and has never finished air drying with a beautiful natural wave to it until using this trio! Oh, also this product smells like vanilla cupcake frosting with hints of salted caramel too! Heaven if you ask me! I highly recommend Kevin.Murphy to anyone who wants to indulge their hair with some TLC. (RRP $36.95, $37.95 and 49.95, respectively from the image below. Kevin.Murphy is available from www.kevinmurphy.com.au or call 1800 104 204 for stockists)

Puretopia -Essential Facial Serum, Face Scrub and Body Polish. I have been loving testing these products out. The face scrub effectively removes any makeup and dead skin cells to reveal smooth, glowing skin. It has small microbeads in it that gently exfoliate your skin. After exfoliating my face, I then move on to using the Body Polish which is a much coarser exfoliant to really help get dead skin cells off and get your skin glowing. I love this body polish as it leaves my skin feeling super soft and the smell reminds me of coke bottles (the gummy lollies)! It's really risky having such delicious food-smelling beauty products in your shower - it just makes me crave sugar afterwards lol. After my shower, I gently massage the facial serum all over my face in circular motions. It is the coolest product with the tip having 3 small metal roller balls all over it to promote circulation in your face (which can help your skin heal quicker from blemishes, scars or uneven skintone). My hormones have been out of balance lately and these 3 products have helped my skin get back on track much quicker! (RRP $19.95, $9.95, and $14.95 respectively. Available from Terry White, Priceline, and Big W).

Innoxa - Full Colour Lip Cream. These beauties are full colour lipstick and gloss in 1 that contain antioxidants to help keep your lips feeling moisturised. It is not sticky at all and the colour pay off is so intense! I'm loving these darker colours for the cooler months. The colours here are Wine & Dine; a beautiful brown toned vampy red and Red Rose; a stunning bright red with slight brown undertones. (RRP $14.95, available on counters from the 24th of April from Myer, Priceline and selected pharmacies nationally).

Wine & Dine
Red Rose

Thanks so much for reading and let me know if you have tried any of these products or what your current favourites are! Speak to you all soon!

Nude by Nature Lipstick & Concealer

Hi guys! I only recently had the pleasure of trying Nude by Nature, specifically their Natural Mineral Cover (which I reviewed here) which I absolutely adored, so naturally I was very excited to try other products from their range. I will be sharing my review of their Natural Mineral Lipstick (RRP $17.95) and their Liquid Mineral Concealer (RRP $19.95). Nude by Nature is available at Priceline, Target, Big W, Myer and online here. Let's jump right in!

Liquid Concealer (in the shade Medium) - This concealer is super creamy. It blends really well and matched my skin tone perfectly. It contains Jojoba oil, Shea butter and Vitamin E, helping to even out your skintone. It definitely is long lasting, as described, and naturally conceals blemishes.

Natural Lipstick (In the shade Chique) - This lipstick, just like the concealer is SO creamy and buttery. It contains Jojoba oil, Shea butter and Vitamin E for super nourishing, soft lips with a hint of colour. This shade is my perfect shade of 'my lips but better', a beautiful medium rose pink/taupe. I can actually wear this lipstick daily without worrying about if it will smudge or go outside my lip line. My perfect natural nude colour!

COAST to COAST Skincare Review

Hi everyone! I hope you are looking forward to Easter this long weekend - woohoo! Today I have a new Australian skincare label to share with you called Coast to Coast and is dedicated to creating honest products. The creators have an appreciation for native Australian botanicals which formed the basis of these products, with each range divided into 3 landscape collections: Coastal, Rainforest & Outback. They are all formulated with a complex blend of native botanicals, herbal extracts and essential oils. Each unique skincare system draws ingredients from their respective geographical location to target specific skincare concerns. Today I will be sharing a few products from the Outback range, which targets people with dehydrated, dull and uneven skin, who want illuminated, glowing skin. The brand has a lot of products in their collections so let's take a look at the products I received. Coast to Coast is available from David Jones, Sephora Sydney, The Emporium Melbourne and online at coastocoastaustralia.com.

Skin Illuminating Foaming Cleanser (RRP $19.95 for 100ml) - This foaming cleanser contains Quandong and Desert Lime to replenish, cleanse and gently remove makeup & pollution without over-drying your skin. The Vitamin C and fruit extracts of Quandong, Desert Lime and Kakadu Plum boost clarity and radiance to dull and dreary skin, while salicylic acid dives deep to decongest the skin and clear trapped oils. I thoroughly enjoyed used this cleanser. It is light, leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth and soft. It has a very citrus-y smell but does not bother me at all. This has helped my skin look less congested in only a week and a half of use!

Skin Whitening Aqua Essence (RRP $39.95 for 30ml) - This whitening facial essence contains anti-oxidant rich Kakadu Plum, Desert Quandong and Desert Lime to restore clarity and brightens dull, uneven skin, while Vitamin E and Sodium Hyaluronate boosts the skin's hydration levels for a smoother, more supple appearance. I apply this serum underneath my moisturiser and straight after cleansing to give my skin an extra boost of hydration. I've noticed it has helped slightly with my skin's hydration and has definitely helped with healing my uneven skin tone quickly.

Lightweight Whitening Lotion (RRP $29.95 for 50ml) - This lightweight, protective moisturiser with skin-illuminating Kakadu Plum, Quandong and Vitamin C helps to restore clarity and brightness to dull, uneven skin. It contains sunscreen (although it doesn't say what SPF level), and Organic Aloe to help combat surface dehydration (which I experience) for a healthy burst of radiance. I really like this moisturiser. It is the first moisturiser I've used where I found it gives me enough hydration that I don't need to apply Rosehip Oil afterwards. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any stickiness on the skin. It complements the essence mentioned above perfectly.

Replenishing Shampoo (RRP $9.95/$22.95 for 50ml/250ml) - This ultra-moisturising shampoo has been specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair types. Enriched with anti-oxidant rich Kakadu Plum & Desert Lime, together with Honey, Chamomile and Organic Olive Oil to deeply condition hair and scalp, restoring suppleness and shine. Repairs and protects colour treated hair. Lately I have been noticing my hair looking shinier and feeling softer, but I hate the way this shampoo leaves my hair feeling once rinsed out. It feels really dry and tangled which I dislike.

Replenishing Conditioner (RRP $9.95/$24.95 for 50ml/250ml) -  This conditioner helps to deeply condition and rebuild hair's strength and elasticity for a thicker and fuller appearance. This shampoo contains Kakadu Plum, Chamomile and Organic Avocado Oil to nourish the hair cuticle for a silky smooth appearance. This conditioner doesn't do much to relieve my hair from how it feels after the shampoo has been applied. It just doesn't feel nourishing enough on my hair type.

Nourishing Body Balm (RRP $9.95/$24.95 for 50ml/259ml) - Restore softness and balance to your skin with anti-oxidant rich Desert Lime, Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey and cooling Aloe Vera. This vitamin rich and plant oil based body balm will soothe, tone and improve the skin's elasticity, making it ideal for very dry skin in need of intense nourishment. I find the scent on this product slightly sour compared to the rest of the range but not unbearable to use. It is a lightweight body balm that made my skin look very moisturised but for me, it just does not absorb quick enough. I hate the feeling of my legs being sticky to the touch or my clothes getting stuck on my skin from the product. Other than that it's a beautiful product.

What do yo think of these products? Will you be trying out any Coast to Coast products? I'd love to know if you have already and what you think of this new Australian brand? Thanks so much for reading and see you next time!
