Orly - Beach Cruiser (Neon Collection 2012)

Hey everybody! Yesterday I received a lovely box from beautybay.com with my order of some of the new Orly Neons! I was sooo excited I squealed when I opened the box! Yippeee! From the collection I only decided to get the neon orange, pink and yellow because I already have a very close to neon blue in my collection. Anyways! Today's post I have for you the lovely Beach cruiser, a full on neon barbie PINK that I couldn't stop staring at during my run this morning! (People must have thought I was a bit insane LOL). I've recently started using a ridge filler by Cutex which is a milky beige colour but doesn't affect the colour being applied over the top, and I like it! So I applied 1 thin coat of ridge filler, 3 thin coats of beach cruiser and 1 coat of Orly's Sec-n-dry top coat. All in all I absolutely LOVE this colour, so easy to apply, although it was a little patchy at times, and my camera didn't really photograph it well so I had to decrease the lighting to -2 to really get it to show it's truest colour!

The photos aren't the best, so apologies! but here you go :)

I'll try and keep posting regularly, but I have this take home exam for one of my subjects and it's super hard and is taking me on average 5 hours to do 1 question! (Luckily i'm past halfway and only have 2 more to go! Arghh!)

Have a great day everybody and thanks for reading :)

Artsy Wednesday - Inspired By A Celebrity Manicure

Hello everybody :) It's time for another artsy wednesday, yay! Today's theme is inspired by a celebrity manicure and I chose Rihanna and her awesome yellow smiley face nails! I used 2 coats of Bloom - Yellow Blossom and then a black art striper! I'm not very good at using them, but i'll get the hang of it! Here are some photos :)

Nails Inc - Baker Street

Hellooooo! I am VERY happy today! I received my FIRST Nails Inc polish (thanks to my gorgeous boyf!) and it is my absolute favourite nail polish colour, a gorgeoussss royal navy blue creme! As it was my first time ever using Nails Inc I was very observant and noticed that their bottles are quite small and the brush is very small too which I wasn't used to but I think I still managed the same! This would have to be my favourite nail polish in my entire collection! I know you must be thinking i'm crazy not to pick a holo or duochrome or glitter etc but to me, there is something magical and super sophisticated about this colour! Enough drool from me, here are the photos!!

Sorry these aren't the best of photos! One thing that is annoying me lately is my seche vite. When you buy a new bottle it's got a good consistency, but after a while it thickens and leaves bubbles on my nails.. noo! I stuffed up my middle finger a bit, but luckily it doesn't show. Anyways lets leave on a positive note! My giveaway is still running so enter here :)

Pink Glitter Nails + My Ombre Hair!

Hello everyone how are you on this Friday afternoon? I am very good and have a gorgeous new glitter polish by Sally Hansen to show you. This colour, called Be-Jeweled is from the new Gem Crush collection. Be-Jeweled is a dense pale purple glitter in a clear base with a peachy-pink glitter scattered. I bought this beauty at Priceline on special for $8 and also for Australian girlies, Priceline sells OPI Shatters now, for only $10! I was excited when I saw they stocked OPI, but disappointed they only sell shatter, a bit over them now! Anyway, back onto today's swatch. I applied 1 coat of Color Club - Foil Me Once and then applied 3 coats of Be-Jeweled. My nails are pretty thick at the moment, but I also applied 1 thick coat of SV to smooth it all down! In today's post i've also attached a picture of my DIY-ombre/balayage hair. It is practically the same concept as gradient nails but with hair (from the root (dark) to the ends (light). I thought you'd like to see it :) Here we go!

OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard + Green Shatter Accent Nail

Hello everybody! It's been a couple of days since I last posted but today I have for you a real beauty! I just received OPI's Just Spotted the Lizard and Green shatter and couldn't wait to try them! So by now, most of us know that Just Spotted The Lizard is an almost exact dupe of Chanel Peridot. Just spotted the lizard is a gorgeous yellow-green foil-y duochrome and applies very smoothly. I used 3 thin coats of JSTL. I then wanted to add the green shatter to my ring fingers and did 1 thin coat of that, followed by SV on all nails. Here are many photos to drool over!

Explosion Nails!

Hi all! Today's design is from the lovely Jane's blog at Nailside. I love her blog and she does some AMAZING tutorials and designs. So I practically did the exact same colours as her. I used 2 coats of OPI's - Dim Sum Plum followed by OPI's - Black Onyx for the striping! If you head over to the nailside link I provided it will show exactly how to do it and it is really simple to do! I was going to add another colour but I didn't have enough space on all my nails to have the 3rd colour which is a shame but I still love it with two colours and can't wait to try this with neon colours! Here are some pics!

Ozotic 213 + Ozotic 115 Accent Nail

I am loooooving Ozotics at the moment! They make some gorgeous glitters and duochromes! Today I have for you Ozotic 213, a black base with silver micro glitter and Ozotic 115, a blue base with blue micro glitter, love them both! So I applied 2 coats of Ozotic 213 over each nail except the ring fingers, and applied 4 coats of Ozotic 115 on the remaining fingers. I should have definitely layered 115 over another colour because it took way to many coats to become opaque.
Here are some photos!

Gorgeous macro shot! Mmmmm

What do you think of these glitters? They were really hard to remove which SUCKS! But nothing like the ol' foil method and no problems!
