Orly - Smokey Collection

Hi guys! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I will be showing you 2 colours from Orly's new Smokey collection. This collection features 6 dusty shades inspired by the smokey eye. The two colours i'll be showing you are Edgy; an antique bronze shimmer and Darkest Shadow; a black with red shimmer. I used 2 coats for each and applied SV topcoat. All formulas were a little on the thin/watery side but nothing a couple of thin coats can't fix! Orly retails for $18.95 and are available from selected pharmacies and salons nation wide, as well as online at www.orlybeauty.com.au. Hope you like these!

Edgy
Darkest Shadow
Also, here's some nail art I did using Edgy and two striping polishes (yellow and white). They all went so well together!

Will you be picking up any polishes from this collection? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

Biosculpture - Smokes & Mirrors Collection

Hey everyone! Today I have 3 of the 5 colours from the newest Biosculpture collection called Smokes & Mirrors to show you. This collection consists of 5 shimmery shades for a super glamorous day or night look. Biosculpture nail polishes retail for $19.95 and your nearest stockists can be found online at www.biosculpture.com.au. The formula on Biosculpture nail polishes are exceptional and are of very high quality. I love using their polishes and think this collection is unique and different! All swatches show 2 coats and no top coat.

169 The Rebel - A light metallic rose gold shimmer. This colour is so flattering on tan skin tones.

170 Metallic Sorcery - A rich bronze of dark copper with burnt metallic fragments. This was an interesting colour. It was inbetween a shimmer and a liquid sand - but the particles were too sparse to be considered a liquid sand I think. Nonetheless it is a gorgeous colour on the nails!

167 Seductive Lights - This swatch does not do this gorgeous Marilyn red justice. It is so juicy and vibrant looking that I felt like a million bucks wearing it. It is definitely a seductive red jelly colour with heaps of red glitters throughout.

Which colour is your favourite from these three? Make sure to check out website for all the other colours! Thanks for reading!

Shimmer Polishes!

Enter my international giveaway to win 1 of 4 nail polish bundle packs!

Hello lovelies! Today I have 8 Shimmer Polishes* to show you today! I received a package a while ago with a whole bunch of shimmers and just haven't had the chance to swatch them so here they are!! The formula on these glitters were great, some were gluggy but that's to be expected with thick, heavily dense glitters. My favourites from the collection were definitely the dark berry colours. Not only were they almost jelly-like but I loved the berry colour instead of a clear solution with lots of different glitters mixed in it! All photos show 2 coats without a top coat applied. Here we go!!

Eva - a berry base with an amazing mix of black and silver small glitters. This reminds me so much of raspberry jam!! Love this colour a lot!

Leslie - a mix of periwinkle and lavender glitters - this is immensely shiny IRL!!

Lorene - This berry mix is like a crazy party full of orange, silver, blue, green and iridescent goodness! Love this colours a lot!

Mary - This is my absolute favourite from the bunch. A berry base filled with gorgeous blue, black, berry, silver and iridescent glitters. LOVE!

Natalie - a stunning dusty blue, copper and gold mix. This is so glittery!

Nichole - Hello 4th of July!? I'm not American but this colour seriously shouts out U.S.A to me! I love it nonetheless. blue, silver and red glitters!

Sarah - a blue base filled with turquoise, purple, light green and dark blue glitters. YUM!

Lastly, Jasmine - an aquamarine blue and green mix with copper and silver in the mix. This is truly stunning!

So which colour is your favourite? My favourites are Lorene, Eva and Mary!! Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

Shimmer Polish - Natalie & Karen

Hello everyone! Today I have a couple of colours by Shimmer Polish to show you and I have another 8 more to show you within the next 2 weeks! Today's colours are Jennifer* (a dusty pastel purple, copper and light aqua mix with micro glitters and slightly larger holographic hex glitters) and Karen* (a lavender pink mix with holographic hex glitters). I layered both of these over base colours as I wanted a subtle yet striking effect. I finished it all off with 1 coat of Wicked Fast. Both these glitters were very easy to work with and I had no issues with them but they are hungry so I would double up on the top coat next time!

2 coats of OPI - Mod About You and 1 coat of Karen

2 coats of OPI - In My Back Pocket and 1 coat of Jennifer

I'm really loving thinking of combinations that completely clash with the colours or compliment it! Which Shimmer polish do you own and what's your favourite combo? I'd love to know!

A-England - Iseult and I'm Back!

Hello everybody! I am back from my 5 day music festival camping trip, it was so much fun and I saw some great bands. My favourite performances were by; The Rubens, Miike Snow (as always) and Ball Park Music! Great stuff! It was super muddy due to terrestrial rain for about 30 minutes which included HAIL! Crazyyy!! Anyway, when I got back I had heaps of packages which is very nice to come home to, and I received my A-England order when they had a sale. Today I am showing you A-England - Iseult, a stunning pearlescent milky pink that makes the nails look super feminine and neat and tidy!

My cuticles got battered during the weekend, I have so many cuts on my fingers and in my cuticles, oww! (please ignore them in the photos!)

This is 2 effortless coats and applies like butter! Love this heaps! Did you buy anything from the A-England sale recently?

China Glaze - Strawberry Fields

Hi all! I had such a lovely day today! I relaxed and did a bit of shopping (no new nail polish purchases though.. except for a fast dry top coat for $3.95!) but I thought I'd pull out an oldie! Today I have China Glaze's Strawberry fields which is a really nice strawberry sheer pink with a delicate gold shimmer that is truly reminiscent of a strawberry in the sunlight! So much depth in colour :) I feel like strawberries now . . mmm!

Anyhoo..I applied 2 coats over Orly's bonder followed by Sally Hansen maximum growth fast try top coat (which is surprisingly good considering it was in the clearance bin and all the other polishes surrounding it looked really gunky and old lol)

Here's a couple of pics :-)

Oohh..Ahh! So pretty :) I love a good pink shimmer!

Just want to say a quick thank you to everybody who entered my 200 follower giveaway! Sorry you were unlucky but I LOVE having giveaways, it is really rewarding and I love how thankful everybody is, but I want to know what you guys think! Is having a giveaway every 50 followers a bit too frequent or should I have one every milestone? (500, 1000!?) I'd love to know what your thoughts are!

Thanks everybody for reading! :)

Lay It On Me - Holographic Collection + Kleancolor - BLACK CHUNKY HOLO

Hi everybody!! Today I am happy because 2 good things happened!
1. I finally found whiskers for my tigger costume on the weekend (It sounds like it wouldn't be hard to find, oh but it was!)
2. I found a beauty trade supplies store (Glama co) that is 10 minutes away from me and sells very cool stuff like CHINA GLAZE and ORLY! I have only succeeded on finding OPI and Essie in stores so this is a big relief!

When I went shopping at Glama co I found this interesting brand of nail polishes called Lay It On Me. . .basically all these colours had 3 different colours in the bottle, stacked on top of each other like oil floating in water. I was really intrigued to give it a go so I bought one. Here are some swatches! The colour code says "Holographic Collection" - that caught me deffinitely!

Eeeeekkkkk! I do not like this colour at all! I thought it would turn out really cool but I only slightly managed to get pink accents in the coats which is a pity :-(

I had to try and transform this vomit colour into something decent so I decided to layer Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black over the top! Yay!!

Hallelujah! It made it much nicer! I actually really like how it turned out. a semi transparent (no VNL) cargo green with pink shimmer reflectives and then the gorgeous auburn and green hexagon pieces! I like it.

I am also trying a new top coat out by Orly called "Glosser" I like it so far! :-D

It has a bit more grey tone in this due to the chunky holo black's sheerness of two coats.
I really really like this combination. . it's really different to what I usually lean to!

I have a really cute TIGGER themed nail post coming! Stay tuned and ALSO don't forget to enter my giveaway here!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave your opinions :-) Love Mel!
