Metallic Half Moon French Tip Mani

Hi guys! Today I have another quick post to share with you. I wanted to do metallic nails so decided on doing a half moon mani with 1 coat of OPI - Barre My Soul as the base and free handed the metallic half moon with Scout Polish in the shade November Rain (review coming soon). Then I used OPI - Love. Angle. Music. Baby and freehanded french tips. I finished it off with 1 coat of G&G. I love this look and think it looks really striking! I hope you like it too!

OPI - Haven't The Foggiest & Dining Al Fresco (Plus David Attenborough!)

Hey guys! Today I have 2 colours from the new OPI San Francisco collection to show you; Haven't The Foggiest and Dining Al Fresco. Haven't The Foggiest is a really pretty dense silver foil. Dining Al Fresco is a very interesting light blue creme with subtle silver shimmer running through it. It's very unique! I applied 2 coats for each colour followed by 1 coat of SV. Formula wise these were perfect and very easy to apply.

Am I the only one who was quite disappointed with this collection? There were hardly any colours that I really liked and these two colours here I found to be only OK! Nothing special or new to me! :(

P.s I got to see Sir David Attenborough on Wednesday night and it was utterly brilliant and I absolutely adore this man! He is so inspirational and I can't believe I got to see him!

Layla Mirror Effects - Metallic Chrome

Hi darls! Today I will be showing you another Layla Mirror Effect I received when Kathy from more nail polish made a big order with them! This is just a standard silver chrome colour, but these mirror effects by Layla are not ordinary, they are AMAZING! The brush strokes disappear when it dries, it leaves it literally looking almost mirror like! This polish can be tricky to master, you need to apply it really quickly otherwise if you go over a spot too often the polish will pull off and go patchy and bald! In these photos I did 2 coats, no top coat (but p.s the topcoat does NOT dull the effect, only at first but then the colour shines through once it dries :))

You may have seen in my other post of Layla Mirror Effects (see it here) that it looked horrible because of my ridges, well this post is a HUGE improvement! My ridges have finally gone, thanks to Sally Hansen miracle nail thickener and it looks so smooth and perfect! I'll show you :)

I really really really really WISH they had a gold version of this too! Does anyone know why/have a theory as to why it hasn't been made yet? It would be SO popular!

Ikat Nail Art

Hi all! Today I saw a great video by the lovely MissJenFabulous on IKAT Nails, which is originally a dying technique used to pattern textiles. To see the full tutorial on how-to do IKAT nails, check out Jen's websit linked above!

The colour I used as a base was Orly's - Beach Cruiser, followed by a standard White Striping Pen, followed by Revlon - Metallic, followed by a standard Black Striping Pen. All topped off with 1 coat of Cult Nails - Wicked Fast. It wasn't too bad for a first go, I managed to get better on my second hand. I need to work on my black feathered stripes to accentuate the IKAT print more.

Orly Magnetic FX - Paint On Electron

Hi guys :) Today I have another polish from the Orly Magnetic FX collection called Paint On Electron, and it is a deep silver and charcoal colour. It was a breeze to apply and only needed 1 coat but i had a couple of issues with the magnet! 1. the magnet is too small for my thumb and only works on half of the nail. 2. the magnet actually pulls the polish on the nail upwards onto the actual magnet and removes some of the polish. Does anyone else have this problem with other magnet polishes?? Let me know i'd love to know!

Anyway heres a couple of pics. I really like this magnet design, it is an "S" shape and looks really neat!

I'd love for these magnetic polishes to come in brighter colours. Could you imagine neon magnetic polishes!?

Artsy Wednesday - Stripes!

Today's artsy wednesday theme is stripes so I went with a silver and gold combination. I used 1 coat of Barry M's Silver and Gold Foil effects and then used silver and gold striping tape purchased on ebay for less than 20 cents! It was very very simple to do and i'm glad because I tried THREE other striped manicures before this one but i was impatient and didn't want to wait for my polish to fully dry so I gave up and then decided on this one and I think it looks MUCH better than my previous designs! Barry M & Essie Luxeffects Combo

Today's look started with Barry M's Silver Foil polish followed by Essie's Luxeffects Shine of the Times! If you saw in my earlier post I did a double gold combo and it was so pretty and this one is no exception!! Barry M's polish was a really nice formula it's just a shame about the thin brush! Essie's Shine of the Times is a thick polish and formula but I don't care because it makes any manicure absolutely gorgeous!!
